This course will examine the key reigns and events of the Plantagenet dynasty. England’s longest ruling dynasty reined from 1154 to 1485 and the course explores the central themes and developments from the Norman Invasion and the establishment of Plantagenet rule up to the death of Richard III in 1485. The central themes will be royal power, domestic affairs, reform, and conflict within Britain and abroad including the 100 Years’ War.
