Want a career in interior design? This course is aimed at those new, or relatively new, to interior design who ultimately want to progress on to a career in interiors or simply explore and develop a personal interest. The Interior Design - Portfolio course is designed to give adult learners the knowledge, understanding, skills and portfolio to prepare them for employment or further study at level 3 or 4 in Interior Design.
Course Content
This is a project-based course that will give you the opportunity to learn the specialist skills associated with Interior design. In response to design briefs, you will research and build a portfolio through drawings, visuals, 3D models, and technical drawings using scale drawing techniques and exploring spatial design.
The portfolio you develop will show a range of interior design projects and skills. As the course progresses you will explore historical and cultural influences and visit galleries and museums. You will be encouraged to experiment with traditional and non-traditional materials and to analyse your design ideas.

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

Tutor approval is required for this course.
Assessment Methods
The course is assessed through a range of methods including portfolio and sketch book work as well as through blogs, feedback and presentations. There are deadlines for assignments throughout the course which you will need to meet to build your portfolio and complete the course.
Further Study Options:
You could progress to the one-year Interior Design Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma (UAL)
